Stergios was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, at 1982. At the age of 17, he became a student in the Marine Sciences Department of the Aegean University, Greece. He continues his studies in the non-academic area of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, getting trained as shiatsu and acupuncture practitioner in Greece (OM Centre), UK (Well Mother), China (Hunan / formerly Zhongfang Red Cross International TCM Hospital) and Finland (Perinteisen Kiinalaisen Lääketieteen Koulutuskeskus).

Since 2012, his interest in the rehabilitation of people with Multiple Sclerosis keeps him in Finland, offering brief or intensive treatments to patients while regularly assisting a Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis patient in daily activities. He continues his studies with a post-graduate shiatsu diploma in Holistic Care for Maternity and by getting training aimed at nurses who take care of people with Multiple Sclerosis.

He completed his MSc in Advanced Oriental Medicine (Research and Practice), a Middlesex University degree in collaboration with Northern College of Acupuncture, in 2019.

Stergios is an active member of the global Shiatsu Research Network, involved in projects that aim to improve the research literacy and research capacity of the shiatsu community. He is also a member of the Shiatsu Association (Shiatsu Finland ry) and the Professional Acupuncture Association (Akupunktioammattilaiset ry / formerly Baihui ry) in Finland.
